World’s Most Expensive Homes: Billionaire’s Row House in London Comes With $158 Million Price Tag

With a reported price tag of 158 million dollars, a ‘Billionaire’s Row’ home in London could earn the title of the most expensive home sale ever in London. Bloomberg News is reporting the 16,000 sq. ft. estate on London’s most expensive street, is indeed for sale and the seller is asking for approximately 100 million pounds or 158 million USD. The caveat… the home first has to actually sell pretty close to the asking price to become a luxury real estate record breaker. The last reported record sale was on this very same street when Lakshmi Mittal bought his house for $128 million.

While little is known about the house currently for sale for $158 million… here’s what we do know. The impressive price tag comes with an impressive address to match. The U.K. estate, described at ‘neo-classical’ in design, is located at 6 Palace Green in Kensington. The home is on one of two streets making up ‘Billionaire’s Row’ and offers up one of London’s very few private roads. The privacy aspect is pretty important on the famous tree-lined street, which is home to several embassies and houses the private residences of ambassadors from Finland and Russia, just to name a few. The current seller is somewhat of a mystery, since U.K. land records show the house belongs to a company incorporated in the British Virgins Islands. The home’s last known owner, back when it sold in 2008, was Noam Gottesman, chairman of hedge-fund manager GLG Partners, Inc..
